Swimming Pool Foundation Piers
Over the past 30 years, piers have become more common in the construction of swimming pools. As engineers become more knowledgeable about the effects of soil movement and earthquakes, they design more pool structures with piers.
Piers are recommended for swimming pools built on slopes or where soil conditions are such that they cannot support the pool structure over time. Pool piers can range from 16 to 24 inches in diameter and be as deep as 40 feet.
